Okay, so I got this idea from Cameron Crowe, child prodigy of the swingin’ 70s and current director of mostly-good movies. Apparently, when he started going on the road, reporting on bands in the 70s for Rolling Stone magazine, he started making a mix tape a month to keep a record of who he was and what he was doing. This sounds so romantic. Here’s my February mix:
- Modest Mouse – Float On
- The Killers – Mr. Brightside
- Interpol – Slow Hands
- Smoking Popes – Not That Kind of Girlfriend
- The Smiths – How Soon is Now?
- Smoking Popes – My Girlfriend
- Cibo Matto – Sugar Water
- Ani DiFranco – Origami
- Belle and Sebastian – The State That I Am In
- Cat Power – He War
- Joan of Arc – Post Coitus Rock
- Psychedelic Furs – Pretty in Pink
- Morcheeba – Trigger Hippie
- Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Y-Control
